Remembering Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve on his Birthday:

SVB's SCER Library is sharing the excellent information on "Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve". 

Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve, the man who pioneered women empowerment in India, was born on April 18, in the year 1858. In 1896, he established the first school for widows. Hindu Widows’ Home Association was a shelter and a school for widows. 

In 1916, he established the first university for women in India - S.N.D.T. Women's University.
